Accessibility statement.
Ferrafox builds this site to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This sets out what that means in practice, what has actually been tested, and what has not, because a statement without limitations is not a credible one.
Conformance
This site is designed and built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2, Level AA.
We believe it meets that standard. We do not claim an independently audited conformance rating, because we have not commissioned one.

What that means here.
- Keyboard
- Everything is operable without a mouse. A skip link is the first stop on every page, focus is trapped inside the mobile menu while it is open and returned to the control that opened it, and no focused element is ever hidden behind the fixed header.
- Contrast
- Every colour pair meets at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for interface elements. Where our accent colour could not meet that on a light background, a darker variant is used rather than the accent.
- Motion
- Motion is limited to short reveals and line drawing. With a reduced-motion preference set, every element renders in its final state immediately and nothing animates.
- Without JavaScript
- All content is present and readable with JavaScript disabled, and the contact form submits and validates normally.
- Structure
- Pages use semantic landmarks and a correct heading order, with one first-level heading each. Diagrams are decorative and hidden from assistive technology; the information they carry is available as text.
How it is tested
Accessibility is checked automatically on every build rather than audited once and forgotten. Each item below corresponds to a test that has to pass before the site ships.
- Automated testing with axe-core across every page, at desktop and mobile widths, on each build.
- Manual keyboard traversal of every interactive element, including the navigation panels, the mobile menu and the contact form.
- Focus order, focus visibility, and focus return after closing a panel or menu.
- Colour contrast calculated for every foreground and background pair in use, including composited transparency.
- Behaviour with a reduced-motion preference set, and with JavaScript disabled entirely.
What we have not done.
- We have not tested against every screen reader and browser combination. If you use one we have missed and something does not work, tell us and we will fix it.
- This statement covers this website. Systems Ferrafox builds or operates for a client are assessed separately, against requirements agreed with that client.
- Ferrafox has not commissioned an independent accessibility audit of this site, and does not claim one. The testing described above is our own.
